Hillary the War Witch

"By the pricking of my thumbs / Something wicked this way comes."

As we celebrate another Oíche Shamhna, celebrating the collision of the worlds of the living and the dead, it would be rude to ignore the Children of the Night that walk among us.

It is all too well known that vampires stalk the White House and demons dwell under the United States Naval Observatory.

Much like Cooger and Dark's Pandemonium Shadow Show, there are a slew of politicians stalking the land promising everyone their darkest desires.  Their familiars scurry through the night sowing hate, confusion and fear.

The dark powers summoned in the dead of night heed their call, presided over by their undead lord.

But in an Associated Press-Ipsos poll conducted this month, the scariest presidential candidate in America is none other than the "inevitable" Democratic frontrunner, Hillary Clinton.

You too can scare progressives and conservatives alike for only $14.99

She leads the poll with 37% with the second scariest being Ghouliani at 14%.  All other candidates never broke 6%.

Fourteen percent? Time to break out the leather and latex ensemble.

Clinton was the choice of four in 10 men and one-third of women. While a predictable two-thirds of Republicans picked her, she also was the choice of 18 percent of Democrats. Among members of her own party, that made her second only to Giuliani as the scariest costume.

About one-third of independents, nearly half of whites and just over half of conservatives and white evangelicals selected her.

What makes her so terrifying?

Could it be the Frankenfoods, Pirates,  Ninjas, Death-Eaters, Hobgoblins, and Red Caps swirling around her campaign? Her membership in a Creepy Cult?

Maybe it's the Hillary Machine that makes people cringe in fear...

or the buggy robotic laugh...

Is she really more freaky than the Mummy,  Mummy II, the Mad Creationist Scientists or the Creature from the Black Desert Lagoon?

Or is it the fear that while she may inevitably win one election, the gates will never be crashed and the future might not be as bright as it could be.

It may be a fluff poll, but even the darkest humor has a bit of truth in it.

Happy Hallowe'en!

You do have to give her props for having a sense of humor.

[Apologies for the poll not having enough space for Duncan Hunter and Bill Richardson — and to Witches and Wiccans in general.]
